Life Lab

Our PTA supports and funds the fantastic Life Lab Program at Vine Hill.  Life Lab is a garden-based science and nutrition program enabling students to discover the wonder and excitement of scientific inquiry as the outdoors becomes their classroom. Students learn about site preparation, planting, maintenance and harvesting. Continued emphasis is placed upon interdependence with nature. Problem-solving techniques and an awareness of nature's cycles are some of the valuable learning attained.

Homework Club 3rd - 5th Grade

Homework Club SignHomework club is offered every year, thanks to our 4th Grade Teacher, Mrs. Hoffman and a team of SVHS students.  Homework club meets every Thursday from 3:00-4:30 in Mrs. Hoffman's room.  It is FREE and everyone is welcome.

computer labDid you know the district has a technology plan that includes specific skills at each grade level, including cyber safety?  In the computer lab students work on word processing skills, district benchmarks, practice vocabulary and math skills, take comprehension tests with Accelerated Reader (A.R.), and work on reading skills with the Lexia program.

Additionally ALL students have access to chrome books in their classrooms to further develop their academic skills through the use of technology.  Our PTA has helped to fund our chrome book purchase.  Students in 3rd - 5th grade are privileged to have "one to one" use of chrome books.

Mileage Club Word Art

Mileage Club is a spring time lunchtime running and walking program for fitness and fun and takes place on the upper field two days a week. The program is designed to encourage all students to increase their fitness level while having fun with their friends during the lunch break.  It runs in spring.  Students will be able to run or walk off some of that energy!

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Maria Gauthier at  We are LOOKING for volunteers to keep this ALIVE!

AIA's are scheduled by the principal to rotate through classrooms to support the teachers.  They work with small groups, provide classroom management while the teachers work in small groups and/or provide one-on-one assistance.  Their assistance helps lower teacher-student rations for a portion of the date.

Our generous PTA also funds our AIA's (Academic Intervention Assistants and Yard Duties on campus.

Our PTA fully funds WOW Science at Vine Hill.   Your child will soon come home bursting with excitement about something learned with Mrs. Maysongsong-Ray. With a focus on highly visual and engaging experiments, our extra science classes keep kids interested in the excitement of all that's possible with science, technology and engineering!

Has your student started thinking about a science fair project yet? Watch your Friday Folder and email inbox between November and December for details. Get excited, be creative and let’s get that experiment underway
